If anyone was needing to email me ( either on my compostbin email OR any personal emails you have for me)...you can't, as my ISP is down and has been all day....both client and web mail!
so I have had no emails at all, and I can't send any out either, which has been a bit of a business blow as I had all sorts of stuff scheduled to do today...and I have only just realised I have comments awaiting moderation, too! ( oops sorry folks)
I am off to meet a batch of new in-training Master Composters tomorrow at their training course, to chat to them about being an MC and working with children etc...
So I have been sorting through my expenses claim today as I have been a bit remiss in putting them in and I suddenly realised I am owed a fair bit of money...which I could do with :-) and can drop off the claim tomorrow :-)so that will be a nice payment soon.
Some eggciting news, I am going to be offering chicken keeping courses via Omlet soon:-)))
I have been working out slots in my diary, sorting out course dates and writing up my profile and course details etc. I have also talked to the chickens concerned and explained they all need to be really really nice to the two legs who will be coming to see them...and not do anything too wacky...
So, all in all a good day here, and the weather has been lovely and sunny, the crocus are all out and the snowdrops are amazing now, I must take some photos for you all to see the ones in the wood.
I may well lose my broadband connection, next...so if I disappear for a bit, don't fret!

How to use The Compost Bin.
Welcome to The Compost Bin, which contains my musings on my life. I live in Herefordshire with my husband and 11 year old daughter. We have 4 acres of land which contains a woodland, small orchard, garden and veg plot. We grow our own organic fruit and veg and make lots of cider, wine, jam and chutney. We share our lives with 16 Chickens, 3 Cats, 4 Guinea Pig and assorted wildlife!
I am a freelance Forest School Leader and Environmental Educator so work with both adults and children on all sorts of things. I also volunteer as a Master Composter and Master Gardener, helping people make compost and grow veg.
So, I might talk about; what we have been doing on our patch of land and in our wood, my work, the chickens and their funny ways, how to grow veg, the fun things our cats get up to, self sufficiency and what it actually means, more general environmental issues, composting, making various crafty stuff, happy and sad times here, living a slower, more hand made, frugal lifestyle, making and mending and re-using and re-cycling stuff, living more lightly on the Earth and my views on life in general.
I hope you enjoy your time spent inside The Compost Bin. I would also love to welcome you as a member of The Compostbin forum

First off, I must say I have learned so much and been so inspired my your really wonderful blog. I am composting seriously for the first time this year and I have a question about cooked fish scraps. I know meat isn't really suitable for composting but what about fish? My husband and I eat fish fairly regularly and we were wondering if the bits and bones could go into our pile.
Thanks,
Melissa at Wheelers Rabbit Hill Farm
Gack, my comment got eaten. Just wanted to say it sounds like a very productive day, with getting the course materials ready and working on the profile. I'd love to see your pictures of the growing plants, this time of winter they are a sight sorely missed.
What is the Master Composter group? Is it a training/outreach program?
